Andre Delano Wins LAMN Jam Urban Contest

Last night saw Andre Delano, the man on a mission to bring back the saxophone, win our LAMN Jam Urban contest beating Malik the Freq and Major Myjah to the $30,000 artist development prize. Andre blew away the judges with his soulful sax for the second week running. This week’s judges were:

  • Brian Shafton, Partner, RBC Records (TECH N9NE, DJ Quik, NWA, Snoop Dogg)
  • Dave Weiner, Strange Music West A&R (TECH N9NE, NWA, Ice T, Snoop Dogg, Rawkus, Dr. Dre, Geto Boys, Rapalot, Scarface)
  • Erin Dawson, Interscope Records (Lady Gaga, U2, La Roux, Far East Movement, Ellie Goulding, Eminem)
  • Soren Baker, Producer, former executive editor The Source Magazine
  • Violet Brown, Artist Manager, Regime Entertainment (NWA, Dr. Dre, recipient of SOURCE POWER 30 award for 5 consecutive years)

GEAR

  • Howard Rosen Promotion will contribute a 6-week campaign valued at $2,000 – $4,000 (depending on format or genre) to the winning rock band. NOTE: This prize is only available if the winning band’s music is compatible with the following radio formats: College, Hot AC, Top 40 and Specialty Shows. Does not include mailing costs, only digital delivery where applicable.
  • According To What Video Production to provide one (1) music video to each winner (1 rock and 1 urban). Artist and ATW to agree on song, concept and treatment, service to include and cover all equipment, crew, production and post-production costs. A $2,000 value (per video).
